Winnipeg Man Drowns After Jumping Off Dock on Caddy Lake

RCMP Logo VehicleA 26-year-old Winnipeg man has died after jumping off a dock on Caddy Lake over the weekend.

The man was swimming a short distance and began to struggle, according to RCMP. He disappeared under the water and didn’t resurface.

Emergency personnel were performing CPR on the man before RCMP and the South East Whiteshell Fire Department attended.

He was taken to a local hospital and pronounced deceased.

Alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor.

The man’s name isn’t being released.
