Winnipeg Goldeyes Zombie Night is Saturday, September 3. (HANDOUT)
Halloween is still a couple months away, but the Winnipeg Goldeyes are getting into the spirit of things earlier this year.
Zombie Night returns Saturday, September 3 at Shaw Park, transforming the downtown baseball stadium into the site of the living dead.
“This is one of the most unique themes we’ve done,” said Goldeyes’ general manager Andrew Collier.
“The zombie theme has become more and more popular at different events over the last few years, so our fans should have a lot of fun this Saturday. Plus, it will be great practice just in case we ever encounter a real zombie apocalypse!”
Zombie-themed food items will be on the menu, an on-field zombie walk is planned before the opening pitch, and fans are encouraged to dress up in their best zombie makeup and costumes.
Winnipeg Harvest will be on site to accept non-perishable food items. Fans can also stick around for post-game fireworks by Archangel Fireworks.
The Fish host the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks at 6:05 p.m. Tickets are available at Ticketmaster and the Goldeyes box office.
