Your summer of ripping through a Winnipeg school zone at a blazing 50 km/h comes to an end on Thursday.
As of September 1, reduced speed limits are in effect during specific hours, meaning motorists will need to slow down to 30 km/h.
The city has 171 signs posted around Winnipeg elementary school zones, warning drivers of the reduced speed limit. Signs indicate when you’re approaching a school zone, the speed inside the zone, and another sign notifying you the zone has ended.
The reduced speed limits are in effect Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., September until June.
