Fools & Horses on Broadway will begin acting as a hub for produce ordered through MyFarmersMarket.com. (HANDOUT)

A side of carrots with that coffee?

Fools & Horses on Broadway is now a pick-up point for fresh, local produce.

The popular coffee house, which is home to #FridayFools, has teamed up with MyFarmersMarket.com to enable customers to pick up their produce at the end of the workday.

“My Farmers Market is just the kind of business we want to be working with in Winnipeg,” said co-owner James Magnus-Johnston.

“They’re helping Winnipeggers eat fresh food that reduces their carbon footprint. We’re also excited about addressing the lack of grocery options downtown.

Magnus-Johnston also recently helped to launch a farmers’ market in South Osborne.

Customers place an order with F&H and pick up their groceries by 5 p.m. on Mondays. Boxes are delivered at 2 p.m.

“We already sell a number of locally-made products that we purchase directly from producers like jams from Flora & Farmer and mustards from Smak Dab,” added co-owner Kendra Magnus-Johnston. “We source fresh baked goods from local bakeries, and we serve locally-made craft beer (including Half Pints and Barnhammer).”

My Farmers’ Market has been serving Winnipeg since 2013.
