Here’s what’s open, closed or operating on a reduced schedule on Labour Day, September 5.
Shopping Centres

Cadillac Fairview Polo Park — Closed
Liquor Marts
Monday, September 5, All Manitoba Liquor Marts will be closed. Some Liquor Marts locations will be operating on extended hours this weekend.
City of Winnipeg Civic Offices
Closed on Monday, September 5.
Recycling/Garbage Collection
Recycling, garbage and yard waste will be collected as normally scheduled on the Labour Day holiday for those with Monday as their collection day.
Brady Road Landfill (commercial customers only):
Saturday, September 3 — 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Sunday, September 4 — 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Monday, September 5 — 5:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The Brady 4R Winnipeg Depot is open every day from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. (residential customers only)
Winnipeg Transit
On Monday, September 5, Winnipeg Transit will operate on a Sunday schedule. For route and schedule information, visit Winnipeg Transit or contact 311.
Libraries
All Winnipeg Public Libraries will be closed on Monday, September 5.
Effective September 6, Winnipeg Public Library’s summer hours end and regular hours resume.
Leisure Centres
All Leisure Centres will be closed on Monday, September 5.
Regular hours are in effect for Leisure Centres on Saturday, September 3 and Sunday, September 4 with the exception of St. James Civic Centre pool and fitness facility, which is closed on Saturday, September 3, Sunday, September 4 and Monday, September 5.
Swimming Pools
City of Winnipeg indoor swimming pools will be closed on Monday, September 5.
Weather permitting, the following City of Winnipeg outdoor pools will be open Monday, September 5:
- Fort Gary Lions Kildonan Park
- St. Vital Westdale
- Freighthouse
Operating hours vary by pool.
Animal Services Agency
The Animal Services Agency will be closed on Monday, September 5.

Cemeteries
Cemetery grounds at Brookside, St. Vital and Transcona Cemeteries will be open for visitation from dawn until 9:00 p.m. on Labour Day, Monday, September 5.
Cemetery offices will be closed on Monday, September 5.
Winnipeg Parking Authority
Hours of operation for the Winnipeg Parking Authority during Labour Day long weekend are as follows:
Monday, September 5 — Closed – Labour Day
Tuesday, September 6 — Regular hours, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Golf Courses
Crescent Drive, Harbour View, John Blumberg, Kildonan Park and Windsor Park Golf Courses will be open every day on the Labour Day long weekend from dawn until dusk, approximately 5:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
