A man who posed as a CancerCare Manitoba canvasser and solicited funds from unsuspecting Winnipeggers has been arrested and charged.
Police say Cory John Oger, 38, canvassed several homes in the St. James and River Heights areas between July 31 and August 18.
His legitimacy came into question and police began their investigation.
Police say he received an undisclosed amount of cash from several victims and was arrested on Tuesday.
He faces eight counts of fraud under $5,000 and eight counts of failing to comply with a probation order.
Oger remains in custody.
