Hunting season is almost officially here in Manitoba and seasoned hunters will mark this time of year with the 8th annual Provincial Hunting Day Celebration on Saturday, September 24.
Happening one week from today, the family-friendly event offers free shotgun training and shooting for the first 100 people, hunting demos and exhibits, game cleaning and preparation, and several other activities.
“This year’s Provincial Hunting Day celebration will be the biggest and best ever,” said Carly Deacon, program manager with the Manitoba Wildlife Federation (MWF).
“The number of exhibitors has grown, and visitors can look forward to a variety of demonstrations.”
Organizers say the day is to remind hunters of the significant contribution they make to conservation programs in Manitoba.
The event is open to the public at the Winnipeg Trap & Skeet Club from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Lunch will be catered by Danny’s Whole Hog BBQ starting at 11 a.m.
