Winnipeg police investigate a suspicious item in the 400 block of Robertson Street on Saturday afternoon. (STAN MILOSEVIC / CHRISD.CA)
Winnipeg police were on scene Saturday afternoon investigating a suspicious item in the city’s North End.
Emergency crews had a portion of the 400 block of Robertson Street blocked off to traffic as the bomb unit was brought in to probe the item further.
A ChrisD.ca photographer on scene said the item appeared to resemble a black tool box as witnessed from roughly 150 feet from the police line.
Police were initially called out at around 1:40 p.m. The roadway was reopened to traffic shortly before 5:30 p.m. and police tweeted their investigation was complete.
