Man Fires Shotgun into the Ground in North End Backyard

Winnipeg Police CrestWinnipeg police and the tactical support team were called out to a North End home on Sunday after a man reportedly fired a shotgun into the ground.

Police say the incident happened at around 11:30 p.m. in the 400 block of Bannerman Avenue. Officers found a loaded shotgun and ammunition in the house.

Officers also discovered that the gun had been fired multiple times in the backyard of the home and bullets had entered the ground.

Joshua Goertzen, 20, has been charged with numerous firearms-related offences.

He remains in custody.
