WINNIPEG — The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority has exercised an option in its contract with New Flyer for 100 heavy-duty buses.
The Winnipeg-based bus manufacturer will produce the 40-foot Xcelsior compressed natural gas buses as part of the $56 million U.S. deal originally signed in June 2013.
To date, 500 buses have been exercised off this contract of which 329 have already been delivered to WMATA and 75 XDE40 or 60-foot buses remain to be exercised.
