CAA ManitobaWINNIPEG — Mature drivers are getting a confidence boost while behind the wheel today as CAA Manitoba and the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT) host a CarFit event.

The organizations have teamed up to keep mature motorists safe and comfortable while driving.

“As we age, our vision and even flexibility changes, which can impact our ability to react and our comfort in the car,” said Erika Miller, public and media relations specialist for CAA Manitoba.

“Simply adjusting foot positioning or the placement of the seat or steering wheel can make an important difference for you and others on the road.”

Local occupational therapists will assist drivers to adapt to their vehicle for maximum comfort and safety using a 12-point checklist created by CAOT.

The free driver assessments are by appointment only and will take place between 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. today in the parking lot of CAA’s St. Anne’s Service Centre, 501 St. Anne’s Road.
