Two Charged After Handguns Found During Traffic Stop

Winnipeg Police CrestTwo people were arrested on Sunday after Winnipeg police discovered two loaded, semi-automatic handguns in their vehicle.

Officers conducted a traffic stop at around 2:50 a.m. near the intersection of Mountain Avenue and Seymour Street. A man and a woman were removed from the vehicle when police discovered the two weapons in their SUV.

Barry Allan Courchene, 34, and Natasha Seita Santos, 32, both from Winnipeg, were arrested. They each face 14 individual firearms-related charges and remain in custody.
