RCMP Logo VehicleAlcohol is being considered a factor in a fatal rollover crash that killed a 17-year-old Lorette boy over the weekend.

The single-vehicle crash happened Sunday at around 4:30 a.m. on Highway 207 just east of Provincial Road 31.

RCMP say the teen was a passenger in the vehicle at the time, being driven by another 17-year-old boy, also from Lorette. The vehicle rolled and landed in the ditch on the north side of Highway 207, ejecting the passenger.

The driver was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say the driver was wearing a seatbelt, but the passenger was not.

The investigation into the crash is continuing.
