Senior Assaulted, Robbed in Transcona Home

Winnipeg Police CrestA woman in her 70s was assaulted and robbed after a man forced his way into her Transcona home on Monday afternoon.

Winnipeg police say it happened at around 3:50 p.m. at a home on Victoria Avenue West. The woman answered a knock at her front door and an unknown man forced his way in. The woman was assaulted, but didn’t require medical treatment. The suspect made off on foot with a small amount of money.

He is described as aboriginal in appearance, 5’8″ to 5’10”, approximately 18 to 20 years of age. He had a heavy build weighing approximately 250 pounds and was wearing a black coloured sweater/hoodie, long dark shorts, a black toque and red/black coloured high-top running shoes.
