Two men from MacGregor, Manitoba were killed Friday when a pickup truck travelling the wrong way on the Trans-Canada Highway collided with a minivan near MacGregor.
RCMP received a report of the truck speeding the wrong way at around 8:10 p.m. Police drove westbound to try and intercept the eastbound vehicle. About one kilometre east of MacGregor, police found the truck had collided with a westbound minivan.
The 63-year-old driver of the truck and 29-year-old man driving the van were pronounced deceased at the scene.
Both drivers were wearing seatbelts. Police have yet to determine if alcohol was a factor in the collision.
The two men were the lone occupants in their vehicles and no one else was injured.
