A Delta Beach house fire claimed the life of a four-year-old boy on Tuesday.
Flames broke out at the home at around 5:30 a.m., leaving the boy trapped inside the residence. When fire crews arrived, the structure was fully engulfed, preventing firefighters from rescuing the child.
Five people, including two adults and three girls all under the age of 12, were able to make it to safety.
Family members have identified the child on social media as Landon Cyr.
The Office of the Fire Commissioner is investigating the cause.
Delta Beach is located about 110 kilometres northwest of Winnipeg.
