Man Arrested After Sherbrook Street Stabbing

Winnipeg Police CrestA 41-year-old man was arrested Tuesday after Winnipeg police say he stabbed another man multiple times when the two became involved in a dispute.

The alleged assault happened at around 5:35 p.m. in the 300 block of Sherbrook Street. Police say two men, who were known to each other, were socializing and drinking alcohol when a fight started.

A 39-year-old man was stabbed multiple times and taken to hospital in stable condition.

The suspect sustained non-life threatening injuries to his upper body during the fight. He was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon and three counts of failing to comply with the conditions of a recognizance.
