Winnipeg Police Warn of Scam Emails Targeting ‘Negligent Drivers’

Winnipeg Police CrestFraudulent emails going out to Winnipeg motorists has prompted a warning from city police.

Police say individuals city-wide have been receiving emails claiming they have been identified as a negligent driver resulting in a fine and payment due.

“Please note that these emails are not associated to the Winnipeg Police Service in any way and furthermore appear to be a scam,” police stated in a release.

An updated list of scams and how to report them is available by visiting the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre.
