Third Suspect Charged in Shooting Death of Winnipeg Man

Winnipeg Police CrestWinnipeg police have charged a third suspect after a man was shot and killed last spring in the 600 block of Wellington Avenue.

George Prieston, 29, of Winnipeg died after being shot on May 12 at around 6:30 p.m.

Two arrests were made on May 14, resulting in Raymond Ducharme, 25, and Shawn Poitra, 25, being charged with first-degree murder.

Police have now also charged Pierre David Contois, 21, of Winnipeg with first-degree murder and cruelty to animals. He was arrested on November 10.

Contois remains in custody.
