WINNIPEG — New, unwrapped toys to create a “toppling tower” is this year’s goal at The Forks.
Winnipeggers are being invited to make a donation to the Tower of Toys in support of the Christmas Cheer Board.
“Over the past 15 years, The Forks Market Merchants’ Association has helped collected well over $150,000 in toys and cash for the Christmas Cheer Board,” said Joyce Gittins, chair of The Forks Market Tower of Toys campaign.
“We are overwhelmed with the response of Winnipeggers and their desire to help support others. It’s our hope that we can help make Christmas a little merrier for Winnipeg families.”
Toys can be dropped off inside The Forks Market in the north aisle beside Tall Grass Prairie Bread Co. November 17 through to December 19.
Anyone who makes a donation, and who may also have a parking ticket with The Forks, can have their violation voided until the end of December. Drivers can bring an unwrapped toy valued at a minimum of $10 to the FNP parking office and get your parking violation cleared.
The office is located at 259-393 Portage Avenue until November 30. It will then move to Union Station at 146–126 Main Street.
