Brandon Police Service CrestA 14-year-old girl is in a world of trouble after Brandon police say she bit an officer after trying to tear down Christmas decorations.

The chaos began Thursday night at around 9:30 p.m. when police responded to a call of a disturbance in the area of 9th Street and Victoria Avenue.

Witnesses told police a female was running down the street bleeding. When officers arrived, they found the teen under the influence of drugs and say she had also tried to rip Christmas decorations off a house.

As police were trying to control her, she allegedly bit an officer on the leg. She continued to fight with police, but was able to be restrained.

The teen was taken to hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in a fight with another female before cops could arrive.

The officer was also treated and released from hospital.

The youth from Beresford, Manitoba was arrested for assaulting a peace officer and breach of probation.
