Time to lighten up the holidays at Red River Exhibition Park.
Canad Inns Winter Wonderland opens for the season tonight, marking 17 years of the drive-thru light show display on the city’s western edge.
Twenty-six different theme areas make up the 2.5-kilometre route, where guests can enjoy the lights from the comfort of their vehicles.
“It’s a special time around here at Christmas and we’re always pleased when Winnipeg families make Canad Inns Winter Wonderland one of their annual holiday destinations,” said Garth Rogerson, Red River Exhibition CEO.
“The Red River Ex and Canad Inns Winter Wonderland has been a part of our community for many years now and we’re really happy when so many families come out to see the lights.”
A brand new polar bear statue is the backdrop of the new Wonderland Photo Stop, with free horse-drawn sleigh rides happening every weekend, weather permitting.
Guests will want to enter through the new west entrance this year. Winter Wonderland is open nightly from 6-10 p.m. until January 7, 2017 (closed Christmas Day).
Tickets can be purchased at the gate for $15 for a family vehicle up to seven people. Advance tickets are $10 per family vehicle at Mac’s, Red River Co-op gas bars and grocery stores and any Winnipeg Canad Inns location.
