WINNIPEG — Blowing and drifting snow on Thursday has forced the city to declare a snow route parking ban beginning Sunday morning.
The ban is to facilitate snow clearing and clean-up of curb lanes on major routes.
At midnight on Sunday, vehicles will not be permitted to park on snow routes between 12 a.m. and 7 a.m. The ban extends parking restrictions by an additional two hours.
Vehicles parked in violation of the ban could risk receiving a $100 ticket ($50 if paid early) and may be towed. The extended ban will be in effect until Monday, January 16 at 7 a.m.
The annual snow route parking ban is in place until March 1.
