WINNIPEG — Five recruits have committed to the Manitoba Bison women’s volleyball team for 2017-18.
The Herd introduced the group on Monday, comprised of outside/middle hitter Laura Hill (St. Mary’s Academy), setter Kelsey Jordan (Vincent Massey), left side hitter Sydney Kurth (Glenlawn Collegiate), libero Sydney Michalyshen (Oak Park High School) and outside hitter Ayiya Ottogo.
The five 17-year-olds will suit up for the Brown and Gold under longtime head coach Ken Bentley, who is currently on a one-year sabbatical.
The Bison women are 6-8 this season so far, having won four of their last six conference matches. The team hosts Calgary in a two-game set this weekend, January 20-21 at Investors Group Athletic Centre. Match times are 7:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., respectively.
