The Winnipeg Goldeyes have re-signed right-handed pitchers Duke von Schamann and Cameron McVey for 2017.
von Schamann was 8-7 with a 4.87 ERA in 20 starts and two relief appearances last year. He struck out 66 batters in 116.1 innings pitched while allowing just eight home runs and 23 walks.
“I know from a statistical standpoint 2016 didn’t go as well as Duke would have liked, and I feel like there were many key reasons for that,” said Goldeyes’ manager Rick Forney.
McVey was 2-2 with two saves and a 3.41 ERA for Winnipeg in 39 relief appearances last season. The Glendora, California native struck out 41, walked 16, and allowed just one home run in 37.0 innings pitched.
The Goldeyes now have 11 players under contract for the 2017 season.
