Man Robbed at Knifepoint Trying to Sell Phone Online

Winnipeg Police CrestWINNIPEG — A man trying to sell his cell phone that he had listed online was robbed of his property at knifepoint on Thursday afternoon.

Winnipeg police say the victim contacted them to report he was in the 500 block of Atlantic Avenue to meet a potential buyer who had entered his vehicle. The suspect took out a machete-style knife and demanded property from the victim, who complied and then fled his own vehicle. The victim wasn’t injured.


The suspect is described as Indigenous, 18-19 years of age, 5’9″, and approximately 140 pounds with a thin build. He has acne on his face and a scruffy beard. He was wearing a grey hoodie, black jeans and a black toque.
