Winnipeg police have arrested a man they say was responsible for several garage break-ins in the North End and Elmwood-East Kildonan over the last week.
Officers spotted a stolen Ford F-150 on Monday afternoon in the area of Keenleyside Street and Pike Crescent and arrested the driver. A stolen bicycle and airsoft pellet gun were found in the bed of the truck.
Police continued their investigation and determined the man was responsible for 13 break and enters to area garages between November 22-27.
Chase James Swampy, 20 of Winnipeg faces several charges.
Police say Swampy was also responsible for a June 4 burglary of an apartment building in the 200 block of McGregor Street where a number of electronics were taken from a recreational area. A number of Ukrainian artifacts were also broken.
Swampy remains in custody.
