A man who Winnipeg police say was causing a disturbance with a weapon on Saturday morning is in critical condition.
Officers were called to a business in the 800 block of Main Street at around 11:10 a.m. for a man brandishing a weapon. He had been removed from a neighbouring business and became involved in an altercation with bystanders, who were able to disarm and restrain him for police.
Shortly after police arrived, the man experienced a medical emergency. Officers administered first aid and contacted EMS. The suspect, a man in his 30s, was taken to hospital and remains in critical condition.
