The newest brightly-lit addition to Arctic Glacier Winter Park at The Forks. (HANDOUT)
A twinkly-lit archway with 12,500 lights is the newest addition to Arctic Glacier Winter Park at The Forks.
The switch was flicked Friday night to officially open the park for the season and the one kilometre of on-land skating and walking trails.
“The on-land trails are a great part of winter at The Forks and this new lighting is going to make them that much brighter, magical and Instagram-worthy,” said Paul Jordan, CEO of The Forks.
“The lifespan of the on-land trails is usually longer than that of the Red River Mutual Trail because we’re not working with a living body of water here.”
The lights run through the Prairie Garden, between the canopy skating rink and Oodena Celebration circle. The on-land skating and walking trails will also get a twinkle of winter wonder to light up the pathways.
