A main artery of Pembina Highway will completely close to northbound and southbound traffic next Friday.
From December 29 to January 2, Pembina between Jubilee Avenue and Stafford Street will be closed to vehicles for rapid transit construction.
The city says crews will be working around-the-clock to install bridge girders as part of the project.
The closure will occur at 8 p.m. on the 29th and last until 4 a.m. on January 2.
Roadway access for Winnipeg Transit and emergency vehicles will be maintained during the closure.
Pedestrian access will be maintained on the east sidewalk through the underpass. Cyclists may pass through the closure by dismounting and walking on the east sidewalk.
Motorists should allow additional time to get to their destinations, and use alternate routes such as Osborne Street, Waverley Street or Kenaston Boulevard.
