A 49-year-old man from Gimli was killed Friday night when his vehicle crossed the centre line of Highway 9 and struck a northbound pickup truck.
The crash happened at around 6:30 p.m. just north of Highway 17 approximately 30 kilometres northwest of Selkirk.
RCMP say the driver of the southbound vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene and wasn’t wearing a seatbelt.
The driver of the pickup truck — a 50-year-old Winnipeg man — and his passenger were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police had Highway 9 closed for about four hours while they investigated.
It’s not known if speed or alcohol were factors in the crash.
