Stony Mountain Ski Area (HANDOUT)
An intense wind chill currently gripping southern Manitoba has at least one winter destination remaining closed.
Stony Mountain Ski Area won’t operate today as the wind chill hovers around -40. Boxing Day temperatures were sitting near -29°C this morning, with a forecasted high of around -23°C.
Environment Canada’s extreme cold warning remains for Winnipeg and much of the province as a low from Siberia made its way into Manitoba late last week. Forecasters say we won’t see relief temperature-wise until into the New Year.
