The five-week festive season checkstop program is in the books for another year as Winnipeg police reported 43 impaired driving-related arrests.
In total, 5,231 vehicles were stopped and 106 roadside breath tests were administered. Of those, 10 drivers failed and 17 were given 72-hour suspensions.
Twelve other arrests were made, with 115 traffic tickets handed out.

Names of the impaired drivers will be released once charges have been formally laid, but 33 were men and 10 were women.
The average blood alcohol count was 160 mg% (twice the legal limit).
