WINNIPEG — They’re calling it “Super Saturday” on the University of Manitoba campus this weekend.
The Manitoba Bisons are in action in three different sports, with both basketball and volleyball teams taking to the court at Investors Group Athletic Centre, while the women’s hockey squad faces off at Wayne Fleming Arena.
The action-packed weekend series begins Friday, January 12 with the women volleyball’s first serve at 6 p.m. The men meet the Trinity Western Spartans next at 7:45 p.m.
Next door, the No. 1 ranked Bison women’s hockey team takes on the visiting Saskatchewan Huskies at 7 p.m.
Super Saturday won’t disappoint fans the following day as both basketball teams meet the Victoria Vikes (noon, 2 p.m.). Hockey faces Saskatchewan in a rematch beginning at 4 p.m. Later that night, volleyball ends the day against the Spartans (men at 6 p.m., women at 7:45 p.m.)
The Bisons wind things down on Sunday when basketball ends three days of competition at 1 p.m. (women) and 3 p.m. (men).
Tickets for all three days, including ‘Super Saturday’ will be available at the door of IGAC and Wayne Fleming Arena.
