Three Charged in Death of Stony Mountain Inmate

Three inmates at Stony Mountain Institution have been charged with second-degree murder following the death of a fellow inmate last week.

Max Maurice Richard, 42, was injured in a fight last Sunday and later died in hospital. He was serving a life sentence at the penitentiary just north of Winnipeg.

Travis Ross, 29, Michael Frank Okemow, 29, and Wilfred George Cook, 27, have all been charged.

RCMP have also charged Anthony Michael Mitchell, 25, James Frederick Sinclair, 20, and Michael Roulette, 22, with assault on another inmate.

Stephen Lee Donovan Houle, 26, has been charged with assault with a weapon.
