The University of Manitoba’s Front and Centre campaign has received a $500,000 donation from Scotiabank.
Part of the donation will be used to enhance dentistry student training, while the rest will establish the Scotiabank Scholarship in Data Analytics in the Asper School of Business.
Funding will see more Manitobans receive the oral health care they need through the Scotiabank Clinical Education Fund in Dentistry, helping to cover the dental costs for those patients who can’t afford such care. The U of M dental clinic charges 50 percent less than private clinics.
The Data Analytics scholarship will recognize and support exceptional students with an interest in data analytics and will attract and reward the sharpest students, who will graduate with the skills they need to work as database administrators, developers, analysts, and scientists.
