Dauphin Man Charged After Shooting Gun into the Ground

RCMP Logo VehicleManitoba RCMP have a man in custody after they say he shot a gun into the ground outside of a home on Pine Creek First Nation December 23.

The man was in a vehicle being chased with four other people inside when it stopped at a residence in the community. Police say once the chase ended, the suspect got out of the vehicle and fired his weapon into the ground. No one was injured.

Police executed a search warrant at a Duck Bay, Manitoba home on January 11 and seized the firearm.

William Pelletier, 25, of Dauphin faces several weapons-related charges.

Police continue to investigate.
