A Winnipeg man was arrested Wednesday after being accused of trying to smuggle drugs into Stony Mountain Institution.

RCMP and Correctional Services Canada were tipped off that someone was going to try to bring drugs into the prison. A traffic stop in nearby Stonewall was carried out and police searched the vehicle.

Inside they found 26 grams of marijuana shatter, 42 grams of cocaine, and a gram of meth. RCMP say the drugs were destined for an inmate being treated at a local hospital, who was then going to transport them inside the institution.
