Meet Baffin and Willow: Names Chosen for Winnipeg Zoo’s Newest Polar Bears

The Assiniboine Park Zoo now has names for its newest male and female polar bear cubs.

After an online vote this week garnered nearly 5,000 responses, the winners are Baffin (male) and Willow (female).

The bears arrived at the zoo last December in separate circumstances and have been housed in the Leatherdale International Polar Bear Conservation Centre ever since.

The cubs will remain on exhibit going forward with access to indoor holding as well as an outdoor enclosure.

The zoo is open daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
