Three Arrested in Taylor Avenue Glasses Store Robbery

Winnipeg Police CrestWINNIPEG — Three people were arrested Sunday morning after a break-in at a Taylor Avenue glasses store.

Police and two K9 units responded to G is for Glasses at around 4:20 a.m. and found a vehicle parked outside of the business. The front window had been smashed and several people were running from the parking lot.

Police say a number of glasses and sunglasses were stolen during the robbery.

The vehicle used in the robbery had been stolen earlier that day from the 400 block of Edmonton Street. It was running with the keys inside of it when police arrived. Police also recovered items stolen from an earlier robbery in the 100 block of Chaikoski Court in the vehicle.

Shaun William Cook, 18, Rylie Johimal Keith Wiggins, 20, and John Henry Sinclair, 18, have been charged with numerous offences.

On its Facebook page, G is for Glasses said they would reopen on Tuesday.

“Welcome to our new store, N is for No Glasses, brought to you by R is for Robbers, starring I is for Idiots,” the store cheekily wrote.
