The city is funding $2.6 million in upgrades to the Pan Am Pool beginning this summer.
On the list for replacement are the facility’s 51-year-old ceiling, lighting, and public address system.
The city says it will work to keep sections of the pool open during construction. Other city pools and recreation locations are being sought out to provide available space for sports clubs, swimming lesson participants, active living members, general use patrons and private service providers.
Crews will begin the project at the end of July 2018, when the pool undergoes its regular maintenance shutdown. Work is scheduled to be completed by the end of this year.
