Police Investigating Two Separate Winnipeg Homicides

Winnipeg Police CrestWinnipeg police are investigating two separate Valentine’s Day homicides.

Officers were called out Wednesday to the 500 block of Furby Street where a man had been fatally stabbed at around 2:30 a.m.

The victim has been identified as Joseph Francois, 45, of Winnipeg.

In the second incident, a man was stabbed in the first 100 block of Charles Walk at around 8:50 a.m. and died in hospital.

He has been identified as Conrad Flett, 27, of St. Theresa Point.

UPDATE: Friday, February 16 — Police have charged Joseph Allan Ballantyne, 55, of Winnipeg, with manslaughter in the Furby Street stabbing. Jarryd Rocky Harper, 25, of Winnipeg, has been charged with second-degree murder in the Charles Walk stabbing. Both men remain in custody.
