Suspect Wanted for Neglecting Manitoba Dogs

UPDATE: Thursday, February 22 — Linklater turned himself into RCMP in Leaf Rapids, Manitoba on Wednesday evening and was arrested.

Manitoba RCMP have issued an arrest warrant for a man wanted for neglecting a female dog and her pups.

John Gerald Glen Linklater, 46, of Black Sturgeon Falls First Nation, Manitoba is accused of leaving the dogs in a home’s bedroom in the community for about three weeks.

The five animals were without food and water when found. Two of the puppies were found deceased.

The mother and her two other puppies are recuperating with the help of Northern Manitoba Paws in Need in Thompson.

Linklater is facing charges of causing unnecessary suffering as well as injury to animals.
