The Winnipeg Goldeyes have re-signed left-handed pitchers Zack Dodson and Kenny Mathew for the 2018 season.
The Fish on Friday announced the two will be brought back into the fold when the baseball club opens spring training on May 6.
Dodson was 5-7 for the Goldeyes last season with a 5.14 ERA in 20 starts and one relief appearance. In 124.1 innings pitched, the San Antonio, Texas native walked just 45 and ranked 11th in the American Association with 98 strikeouts.
Mathews was 3-2 with a 2.63 ERA in 33 relief appearances last year. The Glendora, California native allowed 36 hits, walked 20, and struck out 33 in 41.0 innings pitched.
“Both Zack and Kenny played big roles on our club last year,” said Goldeyes’ manager Rick Forney. “I’m hoping they can provide quality innings for us in 2018.”
The Goldeyes now have 16 players under contract for the 2018 season.
