Winnipeg police on Thursday raided two homes in the north River Heights area, seizing marijuana plants and dried quantities of the drug.
Officers located 221 plants in various stages of growth with an estimated street value of $248,000. They also found half a pound of packaged marijuana worth $1,200.
Grow-op equipment worth an estimated $29,800 was also seized.
A 41-year-old man and 35-year-old woman face drug charges and were released on a promise to appear.
