Woman Sexually Assaulted After Winnipeg Robbery

Winnipeg Police CrestAn 18-year-old woman who ran after two men who had just stolen her purse was sexually assaulted in a back lane on Sunday morning.

Winnipeg police say the woman was walking in the area of Ellice Avenue and Home Street between 6 a.m. and 7 a.m. when she was robbed by two men who produced a weapon.

She chased after them to retrieve her purse, and was sexually assaulted by both of them, police say.

She was treated in hospital and later released.

The suspects are both described as black men in their early 20s, with thin builds, and short black hair shaved on the sides.
