Winnipeg Woman Charged with Stabbing Driver of Vehicle Several Times

RCMP Logo VehicleA woman who received a ride from Winnipeg to Landmark, Manitoba is facing assault charges after stabbing her driver several times, RCMP say.

Police were called to Main Street in Landmark on Tuesday night, where they found the suspect lying on the side of the road.

The 46-year-old victim, a man from Winnipeg, was heading in the direction of Landmark when he agreed to give the woman a ride, according to police. Once they arrived, the suspect stabbed the victim in the upper body. A struggle ensued and the man was stabbed several more times before being able to remove the woman from the vehicle.

He was taken to hospital and treated for serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

The 30-year-old suspect, also from Winnipeg, was uninjured. She faces aggravated assault charges and remains in custody.
