A stolen Mazda SUV slammed into a Brandon transit bus on Monday morning, sending the driver of the vehicle to hospital with injuries.
Police say the two-vehicle collision happened shortly after 6 a.m. at the intersection of 26th Street and Princess Avenue as the SUV was travelling in excess of 120 km/h.
The westbound bus was turning left onto 26th Street when the northbound SUV failed to stop at a stop sign and collided into the left rear side of it.
The 33-year-old Brandon man driving the vehicle was sent to hospital, but was later transferred to Winnipeg for treatment. No other injuries were reported.
Police say the SUV was stolen from a west end motel just minutes prior to the crash.
The driver faces impaired driving charges, dangerous driving, driving while disqualified and theft of a motor vehicle.
