What’s Open and Closed Over Easter Weekend in Winnipeg

Here’s a rundown of what’s open, closed or operating on a reduced schedule over Easter weekend in Winnipeg.

Shopping centres

The following shopping centres will be closed Friday, March 30 and Sunday, April 1:

  • Outlet Collection Winnipeg
  • Kildonan Place
  • Grant Park
  • Cadillac Fairview
  • St. Vital Centre

Regular hours are in effect Saturday and Monday.

Liquor Marts

All Winnipeg Liquor Mart locations will be closed on Friday, March 30 and Sunday, April 1. Extended hours are in effect Thursday and Saturday at most locations. For specific hours, see liquormarts.ca/hours.

City of Winnipeg

  • Civic offices will be closed on Friday, March 30 (Good Friday) and Monday, April 2 (Easter Monday).
  • Recycling and garbage will be collected as normally scheduled for those with Friday and Monday as their collection day.
  • Winnipeg Transit will operate on a Sunday schedule on Friday, March 30. On Monday, April 2, Winnipeg Transit will operate on a regular weekday schedule.
  • All Leisure Centres are closed on Friday, March 30 and Monday, April 2.
  • Public libraries will be closed on Friday, March 30 and Monday, April 2.
  • The Animal Services Agency will be closed on Friday, March 30 and Monday, April 2.
  • The Winnipeg Park Authority will be closed on Friday, March 30 and Monday, April 2.
  • Cemetery grounds at Brookside, St. Vital and Transcona Cemeteries will be open for visitation from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. over the Easter weekend, including Friday, March 30 and Monday, April 2. Cemetery offices will be closed on Friday and Monday.
  • All City of Winnipeg swimming pools will be closed on Friday, March 30, except the Cindy Klassen Recreation Complex, which will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and the Margaret Grant Pool, which will be open 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. All pools are closed on Monday, April 2, except the Pan Am Pool, which will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and the Cindy Klassen Recreation Complex, which will be open from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
