An 83-year-old Brandon man was arrested Tuesday after driving allegedly assaulting a police officer.
Police pulled a vehicle over at around 3:35 p.m. on 2nd Street. They say the driver exited his vehicle and became aggressive towards the officer before returning to his car.
Police say when the officer approached the driver to retrieve more information, the man reached through the window and grabbed their arm to try and pull the officer into the vehicle. Additional officers were able to subdue the suspect, who was arrested for assaulting a peace officer and issued a ticket for driving while disqualified.
The man was released to appear in court in May.
